In case you’re unfamiliar with Zooey Deschanel, she’s been in several movies in the past few years and is really taking off with her music career. At the same time, she’s still a part of the new TV series, New Girl. As well as some recent films YES Man, 500 Days of Summer, and a classic film to watch for the holidays, Elf (starring Will Ferrell as an enormous elf on a journey to find his real father while sharing the Christmas spirit to New York City).

Today’s purchase is one of my personal favorites from this summer. I remembered when walking out of the theaters after seeing this movie, I felt like I was in the 1980’s. Everything from the props, casting, and cinematography of the movie was spot on. With the playfulness of The Goonies, the heart of E.T., and a hint of Cloverfield, Super 8 is definitely one of my favorite movies this year. Tip the hats to J.J.Abrams and Steven Spielberg for this instant classic. Makes a great gift for the holiday seasons!
